Wonder-Weed

It’s been a cooler than normal summer thus far in the Last Frontier. Today we awoke to a fresh dusting of snowflakes on mountains peaks, and ‘seed-flakes’ on the ground.

A single dandelion plant can bloom multiple times each season with multiple flower heads producing over 15,000 seeds. Every puffy whitedandelion blowball seed head contains 150-200 seeds, each equipped with its own parachute to disperse it on the wind.

The leaves of Taraxacum officinale are rich in vitamins A, C and K, and can be used as a diuretic in salads; its brown roots can be roasted for coffee for liver health; and its flowers to make jellies and wine … an impressive resume for a common weed. Yet another example of evolution’s random happenings, or testimony of God’s unfathomable creativity?

Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth”

Psalm 8:1

Keep Looking Up ^ … His best is Yet to Come!

  2. I didn’t see a place to comment on your post, “Two Choices–Two Destinies,” so I came here to thank you, Fred, for sharing your prodigal-come-home story. I pray for a number of prodigals and you gave me a dose of hope today!

  3. Dandelions are definitely healthy. God places helpful herbs that we regard as weeds, all around us.
