Elvis, Romeo and Me

The thermometer registered at 28 this morning as I scraped ice off the car’s windshield and gathered an armload of wood to stoke the wood-stove.

Outside the wilderness has replaced its forest greens with golden-orange hues as summer exits and fall arrives. Once again its time to bid adieu to the Last Frontier and board a high-speed aluminum tube headed south.

As a Bonafide ole duffer I remember in 1962 when my alter ego Elvis came out with the song, “Home is Where the Heart is”. Some folks may have left their heart in San Francisco … not me😊

Way back … when dinosaurs still roamed the earth … I also remember from Shakespeare English class Juliet’s mournful words to her heartthrob Romeo, “Parting is such sweet sorrow”

Most folks have a special place that’s feels like home and tugs at their heart when they have to leave … you may have surmised for me that place is Alaska 😊

Rather than lament and reach for a fresh box of Kleenex here’s some pics snapped today of Home is Where the Heart is”, and why “Parting is such sweet sorrow” for this old ragamuffin.

Yet … I am undeservedly doubly blessed! … Lord willing, as I leave the Last Frontier’s fall splendor I will soon get to experience the Great Smoky Mountain’ s multicolored fall grandeur … PTL!

“I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart;

I will tell of all Your marvelous works.”

Psalm 9:1
