Hawaiian Vacation

Traveling through 6 time zones with a couple hundred folks packed in a high-speed aluminum tube for 10 hours was the only part of our Hawaiian vacation that wasn’t total fun 😊 A definite Bucket List destination, our time in Aloha-land had our bucket overflowing with lifetime memories.

Beginning in Honolulu on Oahu we visited the Pearl Harbor Memorial. The somber historical displays of that tragic event is unforgettably palpable. Before island hopping to Kona, the Big Island, we met up with my son Grant and friends on Waikiki enroute back to Alaska following their month-long vacation exploring Australia and New Zeeland . . . is it permissible for a father to be envious of your world traveling son? 😊

Driving around Kona was a fascinating, educational travelog delightfully immersed in the sights, sounds, nature, history and friendly people of Hawaiian culture. In 6 days we logged well over 1,000 miles from smoking volcanoes and vast lava field expanses …  black sand beaches and pounding surf at sea level to 10,000 ft. on Mauna Kea, our planet’s highest mountain measured from its ocean floor base … wading with gentle giant sea turtles and touring coffee plantations (Kona coffee is the absolute best I’ve ever tasted!) … and at day’s end watching together in wonder another spectacular Hawaiian ocean sunset … quintessential soul therapy!

Rather than ramble on (one of my many faults 😊), here’s a whole bunch of pics from among the hundreds taken along our glorious journey through Paradise … wish y’all could have been there.

We are truly Blessed . . . May U B 2

Keep Looking Up ^ His Best is Yet to Come!
