John Muir once wrote a caveat regarding visiting Alaska, which I’ve succumbed to,
“You should never go to Alaska as a young man because you’ll never be satisfied with any other place as long as you live.”
You’ve been duly warned 😊

Yesterday Grant and I hiked up into Hatcher Pass, one of my thousand favorite places in the Last Frontier😊. A minuscule dot silently gazing over this vast wilderness, my soul echoed another John Muir quote,
“It seems as if surely we must at length reach the very paradise of the poets, the abode of the blessed.”

Sharing this adventure with my son was a blessing to this ole ragamuffin. In Grant I glimpsed the reflection of my own soul’s passion to explore the wonders of Creation’s majesty . . . a special reassuring gift from my heavenly Father.
“Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring are a reward from Him. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them.” – Psalm 127:3
