Volcanoes and Bucket Lists

We’re in the midst of a several day Smoky Mountains liquid deluge. While grateful for the needed rainfall, it dampens my desire to go outside on wander woods wanders or splash around in the creek re-arranging boulders to create reflecting pools.

It’s not cold enough to turn the landscape white and snap on a pair of cross-country skis or explore on a snow-machine. Soooooo . . .  I decided to go surfing . . . in cyberspace . . . enviously viewing professional photographers’ amazing ‘Creationscapes’.  In comparison my snapshots resemble pre-school finger painting 🤪

This awesome volcano photograph mesmerized me:

Rising 9,380 ft. above the town of Pucón 470 mi south of Santiago, Chile, Villarrica is one of Chile‘s most active volcanoes, and is also known as “The Lord of Volcanoes” and “Great Spirit’s House”.

 Chilean photographer Francisco Negroni takes regular trips to Villarrica. On this visit he camped out sleeping in his car out for 10 days to snap this incredible photograph . . . a magnificent display of nature’s fury, it captures double lenticular cloud encircling Villarrica’s crater illuminated during a period of intense volcanic activity.

 “Every trip is quite an adventure – never knowing what the volcano might surprise you with.”, said Francisco. “Some nights are calm, others furious as in this photograph.” . . . my kinda’ furious night I’d sleep in my car for a month to see! 🚙

Entitled “A Perfect Cloud”, Francisco’s photograph earned him the Standard the Chartered Weather Photographer of the Year title . . . I just added it to my Fantasy Bucket List.

Fantasy, because after 8 decades I probably won’t be checking off items on my Bucket List down here too much longer . . . but . . . I’m looking forward to the Upstairs Bucket List already prepared for me to enjoy forever 😇

May the glory of the Lord endure forever;

may the Lord rejoice in His works.

Who looks on the earth and it trembles,

Who touches the mountains and they smoke.

I will sing of the Lord as long as I live;

I will sing praise to my God while I have being.

Psalms 104:31-32

Keep Looking Up ^ . . . His Best is Yet to Come!
