What Would You Like To Un-Invent?

Today a friendly blogger half a world away asked, “If you could un-invent something, what would it be?” Pondering that query, a variety of possibilities began ricocheting around in my cranial void:

Mondays?

                        Calories?

                                                Cats?  . . . just kidding feline owners 😊

At the risk of sounding like an ole duffer (wait . . . I’m an authentic ole duffer!, I’d like to suggest we consider universally un-inventing cyber-communication.

Growing up in a virtually no-tech world, our family was privileged to be the first home on the block to own a state-of-the-art, 10” oval screen, black and white TV when I was 8. Back then people leisurely communicated primarily in one of three personal ways:

  Face-to-face

            Pen and paper snail mail

Party line rotary dial phones

Told you I was an old duffer 😊

In today’s virtual, high-tech world people, grafted to their cell phones, primarily communicate instantaneously and impersonally via:

 Texts

            Emails

A variety of social media platforms

To assist in implementing universally un-inventing cyber communication I’d like to propose all governments agree to issue each of its citizens two reams of letter writing stationary; a box pens; and a dozen books of stamps 😊

Please excuse me now while I go undercover to escape the wrath of all Facebook, Instagram, Tik-Toc and other cyber-communication enthusiasts, and upset cat owners 😊

Smile, enjoy communicating in whatever mode suits you, and don’t forget to pet your cat 🐈

A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a downcast spirit dries up the bones.”

Proverbs 17:22

  1. Ditto Wynne. Meeting and sharing  what’s going on in your and others lives via cyberspace  is an encouraging blessing not possible back in no-tech days of yore when l had lots more hair on my noggin’ and was wrinkle free 😊

    Keep Looking Up ^

  2. There’s a little bit of irony here as I say I’m glad to have met you in this cyber space, Fred. But I agree – love the face-to-face time with people most!

  3. Remember when we had 50 or more phone numbers in our heads⁉️ Now I don’t even know my wife’s and only remember about four or five. Like my brother said, “Before we do something about artificial intelligence shouldn’t we try to solve natural stupidity⁉️”😂
