If New Year resolutions were as easy to keep as they were to make, 2025 will be a banner year for everyone! 😊
Each year (save leap years) has 365 days . . . bet you already knew that 😊. Each year is a one-of-a-kind, unique collection of opportunities, accomplishments, regrets, joys, and sorrows which provide the opportunity to learn from, and prime fodder for New Year resolutions.
Pondering 2025 New Year resolutions on my Quite Bench this afternoon, the rushing stream’s perpetual flow awakened a quote . . .
“No man ever steps in the same river twice,
for it’s not the same river and he’s not the same man.”
Heraclitus
Regretfully, there’s muddied rivers I’ve not only stepped, but foolishly waded in
Mercifully, God was always there to pull me out
Gratefully, I’ve learned to choose better waters
A quote by John Newton. British slave trader who later became an abolitionist and a Christian and Amazing Grace author, flashed to mind . . .
“I am not what I ought to be, I am not what I want to be, I am not what I hope to be in another world; but still I am not what I once used to be, and by the grace of God I am what I am.”
Sooooooo . . . What 2025 New Year resolutions did this ole ragamuffin come up with pondering stream-side today? Here they are superimposed on a pic from my Quiet Bench . . . the same ½ dozen I made last year borrowed from Earnest Hemingway, in 2024, and years before. As a Resolutions Needs Improvement ever work-in-progress student, I’m gonna’ keep trying until I graduate Upstairs 😊

Happy New Year!
Keep Looking Up ^ . . . His Best is Yet to Come!
