Christmas and Thanksgiving are America’s most family-oriented holidays. The latest Christmas travel statistics predict over 115 million Americans will travel at least 50 miles during Christmas, with 59% visiting family.
Some two decades ago a single Dad and his two young sons embarked on a Christmas journey to visit family. Zooming through the skies at 600 mph, they traveled 4,500 miles across 4 time zones from the Last Frontier to Pennsylvania and exchanged gifts. Time has moved on, and those Christmas journeys are now but precious memories.

Some 2,000 years ago another Father sent his only Son on a Christmas journey. Transcending the universe beyond light-speed, from heaven’s majesty to earth’s manger, He visited His created family to exchange endless death for the gift of eternal life.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him may not perish but have eternal life.”- John 3:16
Time ceaselessly moves on, but our Abba’s love is ceaselessly timeless. He has never stopped offering His paid-in-full, priceless gift of eternal life to each one who chooses to accept Jesus.
My prayer is that if you have yet to unwrap and accept the gift of eternal life Jesus offers, you will do so this Christmas to join this ole ragamuffin with all other waifs, strays and undesirables who will someday finish their earthly journeys and, beyond light-speed, transcend the universe from earth’s mangers to heaven’s majesty with Him . . . forever!
May your Christmas journeys be a safe and joyous time of sharing with family and friends, building memories together to relive with smiles throughout the year.
