WOW!!! – Wonder Of Wonders

One of my favorite pastimes is passing time in silent wonder gazing up into the heavens . . . lost in space  . . . lending credibility to those who claim I’m often spaced-out 😊

The edge of the Universe, calculated by astronomers with Hubble and James-Webb telescope data, currently measures 13.8 billion light-years in all directions. However, that light left that region 13.8 billion years ago. The Universe’s continual expansion has carried the light from all the photons trying to reach us, traveling non-stop at 186,000miles/second – 6 trillion miles/yr., to push the edge of the universe to 46 billion light-years distant today . . . lends a whole new definition of ‘living on the edge’😊

Rocket scientists estimate the Universe could contain up to one septillion stars -1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000! Our Milky Way galaxy contains more than 100 billion stars, including our sun. Its spiral galaxy’s disk of stars spans more than 100,000 light-years.

Earth is located about halfway from the center along one of the Milky Way’s spiral arms. Our solar system takes about 240 million years to orbit the Milky Way just once. Some 60 million light-years from Earth is spectacularly beautiful neighbor, NGC 1566, the Spanish Dancer spiral galaxy.

Observational evidence indicates that almost every large galaxy, including our Milky Way galaxy, has a supermassive black hole (SMBH) at its center. A supermassive black hole is the largest type of black hole, its mass being on the order of hundreds of thousands, or millions to billions of times the mass of the sun.

Black holes are astronomical objects that have undergone gravitational collapse, leaving behind regions of space from which nothing, not even light, can escape. Approaching a black hole its intense gravitational pull increasingly slows down time and warps space. Were Earth to enter a black hole, it would be compressed to the size of a penny!

In 2021 scientists were astonished to discover over 100 black holes lurking inside our own Milky Way galaxy . . . not to worry . . . our Milky Way’s SMBH has most likely already ‘eaten’ most or all of the stars that formed nearby, and stars further out are mostly safe from being pulled in. Since this black hole already weighs a few million times the mass of the Sun, it’s estimated there will only be small increases in its mass after it swallows a few more Sun-like stars . . . Burp !!!😊  Bottom line . . . there’s no danger of the Earth (located a mere 26,000 light years away from our Milky Way’s SMBH) being pulled in.

Wonder of Wonders – the omnipotent architect of the Universe’s infinite vastness is my (and your) Abba . . . my Daddy . . . Who also uniquely created and loves this microscopic speck of self-inflicted, broken humanity.

Wonder of Wonders – He lovingly chose to forever rescue me (and you) from my brokenness by sending His one and only son from heavenly realms to a stable on Earth.

Wonder of Wonders – History substantiates that Jesus freely experienced every aspect of my (and your) brokenness, trials and tribulations up-close-and-personal for 33 years, before willingly choosing to forever free me (and you) by submitting Himself to love me (and you) to death and be nailed to a cross . . . and . . .

Wonder of all Wonders – somewhere out there, amidst the endless stretches of stars, galaxies and black holes, a permanent Change of Address form with my name (and yours) waits to be delivered. Stamped ‘FORGIVEN’ – ‘PAID IN FULL’, and signed . . . Jesus . . . all I had to do was to accept the Signator!

WOW!!!

If you have yet done so,  I pray you will do so. The only possible downside . . . you’ll have to tolerate me for eternity 😊

Keep Looking Up ^ . . . His Best is Yet to Come!

Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love Him.
