Shuffling Through The Fallen

Gary is a fellow ‘advanced state of maturity’ 😊blogger and Minnesota wilderness wanderer. Today he posted this poetically poignant fall musing . . .

I am the one gasping as a wind gust removes a hundred leaves to flutter. Up till now they have merrily waved at me all summer through life’s winds. Most of those children are gone, and I once again feel a little older as I shuffle through the fallen.

I too felt a little older shuffling “through the fallen” on my wilderness wander today. However, my soul was comforted with an ambivalent ending/beginning peace. Perhaps this was what the aging apostle Paul sensed 2,000 years ago when he scribed . . .

Therefore we do not lose heart though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” – 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Looking forward to the yet unseen endless seasons of beauty above with Him, and all my redeemed/fallen brother and sister ragamuffins someday.

Keep Looking Up ^ . . . His Best is Yet to Come!
