Maxi/ Mini Majesty

The glowing grandeur of dawn’s sunrise initiating a new day . . . the fading splendor of twilight’s sunset declaring its finale . . . regal magnum opus masterpieces of our Creator.

No two are ever replicated. No one can deny their magnificence. And, somewhere beyond the horizon, they mysteriously merge . . . ‘maxi-majesties’ validating my need to Keep Looking Up.

Such were my thoughts watching the sun slip below the Talkeetna Range this evening. Then, reflecting back on yet another blessed day, a ‘mini-majesty’ came to mind, witnessed by Looking Down.

Fireweed, daisies and bluets, an Alaskan ‘mini majesty’ bouquet . . . same omnipotent Creator . . . different epic venue. Couldn’t help but ponder if such ‘mini-majesties’ inspired the Scripture:

“See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.” – Matthew 6:28

‘Trump’ Family

In this tumultuous world and time of global Covid-19 uncertainty, our local Trumpeter Swan parents and their five signets provide a cathartic calm. Watching them has me reminiscing about my own children . . .

They were so cute when they were little

They grew up way too fast

They were considerably less obedient than the ‘Trump’ kids . . . but then . . . the feathers don’t fall too far from the nest 🙂

Exit Explosion

The Midnight Sun has begun to rapidly abandon its nighttime vigil, dipping below the horizon four minutes earlier with passing each day.  This evening, as if in reluctant protest, it exited behind the mountains in a brilliant burst of defiant detonation, an epic portrait of Divine omnipotence!

The best is yet to come . . . “And then they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.” – Mark 13:26

Celestial Fireworks

In our world of Covid-19 uncertainty and social turmoil nothing could restrain the calming celestial display that lit up the Land of the Midnight Sun’s heavens. Pray your 4th of July was a blessed one.

The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display His craftsmanship.” – Psalm 19:1             +
